Benefits of the HSBC Visa Infinite Credit Card

Sign-up bonus miles

Let’s start with the basics here – as a welcome to the Visa Infinite family, you will receive 35,000 air miles upon applying for this card and paying the non-waivable annual fee of S$650. This welcome gift alone can get you a return ticket to Bali on Business Class on Singapore Airlines.

Miles earn rate

Of course you’d want to know what quickly you’ll be able to earn miles with the HSBC Visa Infinite Card; after all, you’re spending in the hopes of receiving infinite privileges. So here we go:

  • The first year of your membership, you will earn 2 miles per S$1 spent overseas and 1 mile per S$1 spent locally.
  • Second year onwards, you will earn 2.25 miles per S$1 spent overseas and 1.25 miles per S$1 spent locally.

You need to spend at least S$50,000 in the previous year to earn 1.2 miles and 2.25 miles on local and overseas spends, respectively. Quite a lot to spend for not that attractive a miles earn rate, if you ask us.

The other catch is that your earned miles will expire. We wish it would never expire like the Citi PremierMiles Card or the DBS Altitude Card, but no, we’ve only got 3 years to redeem the HSBC Rewards Points.
