Eating:

1. Eighteen Chefs @ various locations

Students can always count on this Western fusion casual eatery, Eighteen Chefs, to serve up a filling meal that doesn’t rob them of their entire allowance. Student meals of pasta or cheese baked rice start from $6.80. With 13 outlets scattered around town and the heartland areas of the country, it isn’t difficult to eat for cheap here.

2. Food Junction @ Junction 8

For all the value and convenience of the neighbourhood kopitiam, sometimes you just want some air-conditioning to cool yourself down after a swampy afternoon in the classroom. There’s also another reason to head to this air-conditioned food court though from now till the end of June: your student pass gets you 10% discount there between 3 to 5pm everyday.

You don’t have to await your future as a high-flyer to be able to pay for wagyu beef. Perhaps to make that point, Waa Cow has plonked itself down right at NUS University Town, serving up Japanese rice bowls to students, including their signature wagyu beef rice bowl and Aburi Bara Chirashi bowl. While prices are above $15, NUS students and alumni of NUS can get 10% off their bill.

8. Prince of Wales Backpacker Pub @ Dunlop Street

If you’ve passed the minimum age for drinking, this bar would perhaps like to induct you into the ranks with $5 Asahi or Corona beer or spirits and 10% off F&B menu items if you have an NUS student, staff or alumni card.

Escape Rooms

10. Exit Plan @ New Bridge Road

Escape rooms are just about the perfect class outing activity. The horror-themed ones may be the best just so you can stick close to your crush! Full-time primary, secondary and tertiary students in Singapore get a special rate of $12 during off-peak hours, that is before 5pm on Mondays to Fridays, excluding public holidays. 13. Shaw Theatres

There’s nothing like catching a movie to de-stress after the exam period. Right after your last exam ends and before 6pm on Mondays to Fridays (excluding eve of public holidays and on public holidays), grab a seat for a 2D movie at $6.50 or for a 3D movie at $9. IMAX Digital tickets costs just $12 and IMAX 3D $14.

14. Cathay Cineplexes

Tickets for students are priced at $7 for 2D movies and $8 for 3D flicks screened before 6pm on Mondays to Fridays, excluding eve of public holidays and on public holidays themselves.

15. Golden Village

Take your seat at GV theatres for $7 or $9 for 2D and 3D movies respectively. Note that these student prices are not available on eve of public holidays or public holidays.

16. Filmgarde Cineplex

For $10, you get a ticket for a 2D movie, a small popcorn and a drink. The same F&B package along with a 3D movie is priced at $13. This student package rate is available before 6pm on Mondays to Fridays, excluding eve of public holidays and public holidays.
